How you Can Help

Many individuals give items, time, and/or money to Age Concern Todmorden.

Age Concern Todmorden is an independent, registered charity using donations to support Todmorden people (we are no longer an Age UK branch and we have no retail shop).

To benefit older people in your area, donating or volunteering for Age Concern Todmorden ensures you contribute to a more enjoyable, vibrant and fulfilling later life. If you have something you think our office or services may find useful (kitchen/office or small home items, unwanted gifts, books, in date refreshments), please ask us if we could use them!)

Here are some testimonials from some of our volunteers:

My experience working here has been great, and has helped me grow as a person in many ways.

Volunteering at Age Concern also allows me to participate in a variety of events within the community like the St Mary’s Christmas market where we sold merch or the Christmas open day at the office where we had a saxophone quintet and festive treats like mulled wine and mince pies.

My time working with Age Concern wouldn’t be as positive as it is if it weren’t for my colleagues who help make the working environment light-hearted and encouraging. As an autistic person I feel that I am supported and valued.

I have been volunteering at Age Concern since October 2025. I do some of the admin work in the office as well as attending events as part of the Age Concern team. I have enjoyed volunteering here as it is a very welcoming and friendly space. I have anxiety and not once have I been made to feel like I don’t belong here.

During my time volunteering for Age Concern, I have gained many new skills and experiences that I would not be able to gain anywhere else. For example: learning how to use Excel, taking minutes for meetings and attending an AGM where I got the chance to network with different people. I have also had the chance to attend a few events such as the St Mary’s Christmas market where I helped on the stall selling merch and also the Christmas open event where I served mulled wine and other festive treats.

I hope to continue volunteering here for a long time!
