Legacy

Leave your legacy to give local older people a bright future

Writing or updating your Will can feel daunting.

Create a will (solicitors can support with will writing) and choose to leave any loved ones and Age Concern Todmorden a gift, to make a difference.
Gifting any amount of money to charity in your will is a special way to support worthwhile causes when you no longer need the money and celebrate your life and values. It can also reduce the tax burden of your legacy (tax free).

Speak to a solicitor about:

  • A residuary gift is a percentage of your estate once any specified gifts have been made to loved ones. A share is flexible as it’s value will depend on the value of your estate at any given time.
  • A pecuniary gift is a specific amount of money- the effects of inflation mean lump sums are likely to lose value over time.
  • A specific gift is a gift of a specified item – such as a personal possession, land, buildings or stocks and shares.

To ensure your will reflects your wishes, a supplement can add an amendment (known as a codicil).
Please let us know if you pledge a gift to Age Concern Todmorden in your will, so we can thank you in confidence for helping protect our future! We understand this is personal and important.
Thank you so much for remembering us as you decide on the future of your estate.
